This was the 2nd batch of 25,000 browns designated for Monroe County. The fish were really healthy fish, 4-5 fish to a pound, and the guys said that there were a few 12 inch fish in this batch. That's Great!!! Bigger stocked fish mean less loss to predation by birds and other fish.
A big thanks goes out to the guys that work at our State's hatcheries. They work really hard to produce quality fish for New York's fisheries, and they do it with limit man power and state cut backs. Keep up the good work guys!!!! It's paying off with some of the best fishing we've seen on Lake Ontario in 20 years.
