We were joined by Gerry from Fishy Business, and his helper Kyle. Fishy Business is a little bait and tackle shop down in Branch Port, NY, at the North end, of the west fork, of Kueka Lake. We promptly left the dock at 6am and got set up right out of port heading west. As we made our first turn to go back, we hooked up with our first fish of the day and action stayed very steady until about 9:30. The fish gave us a little break to eat some sandwhiches, and get something to drink, and then it was back on again at 10:30 until we quit.
These guys did great, they boated 21 fish, and had well over 30 hook ups for the day. They took home several bags of fillets, from their limit catch of brown trout. No kings today despite a quick look out deeper, but we had several browns over 10lbs. I'm very impressed this year with the size of some the browns we're catching. I can't wait till Sunday, we'll be out again. And.. The LOC derby starts May 4th. Can't wait!
