It's been a very busy couple of months. Unfortunately my real job has been keeping me busier than usual, plus all the end of the summer farm projects that we have to get to done. One thing that I've been working on is getting into a bigger, more comfortable boat for the 2015 season. Not that I jumped into this sort of thing, as a charter captain I had been on the look out for a bigger boat for a while, and knew what I wanted in a layout, I just needed the right boat, at the right price, at the right time, and this 26' Baha Cruiser Weekender was the outcome of that. This boat is solid, transom and stringers have been replaced and the engine was rebuilt 4 years ago. She weighs, with fuel, around 7,500 lbs. That should make fishing in 4 footers a nicer than the old Sportcraft. It has a large cabin area, and an enclosed head, with electronic flush. And the best part... no engine cover in the back to have to work around, just flat open deck.
I've been working on compiling a list of small projects to get done on her this fall, she's a solid vessel, but with 26 fishing seasons in the log book there are more than a handful of dock scars and dings that need to be taken care of to have her looking great. I'll be working on these things, and getting my equipment set up, this fall as my time allows.
So here it is, the new ride. The "Small Fortune"!
