Friday, April 5th, it was our turn to splash the Jolly II, and what started out as great fishing weather soon turned into a ride in a washing machine. With all the wind that had blown the previous 4 days the water temperature was only 34.5 degrees. Not good at all. We slid the boat into 4.5 feet of water, temperature jumped up to a whole 36.5, and then some one yells fish on! Awesome! Then another rod fires, and we're doubled up! We would stay in that water for the next couple of hours until we couldn't take the beating the Mother Nature was laying down, pulling a fish or 2 with every pass through our productive water. No a bad start to our 2013 season!
I also heard some good reports from other boats, from over the weekend. A little more warm water to be found, better weather, and better fishing. And reports of some bigger fish, probably salmon, in the skinny water with those browns. It's Lake Ontario at its best!!!
